B-Elite Team Captains Program
Happy New Year to all of our B-Elite friends and families! We are happy to announce that starting in 2020, we will begin rolling out our new Team Captains Program (TCP). Our TCP is one of the ways that B-Elite aims to promote our important club values: Respect, Effort, Commitment, Honesty, Teamwork, and Solidarity. We want to teach our players to lead and to follow, and ultimately give our young leaders a chance to become role models and lead in their own and exemplary ways.
B-Elite Soccer Academy strongly believes that Team Captains are an important part of the team and by formally creating this program we are clarifying to our families and coaches the program details, selection requirements, and responsibilities.
The head coach under the supervision of the technical director will select the captains, and the captains will wear their armband to every game for the duration that they hold the honor of team captain.
Being selected as a team captain is a huge honor and privilege, but it also comes with responsibilities. A captain is expected to be a leader on and off the field, a role model in the community, and a conduit between your team and the coaching staff.
The best leaders are the ones who can make everyone around them better. Captains are not necessarily the best players on the team.
B-Elite has outlined the TCP Details based on age, with selection criteria and specific captain responsibilities. B-Elite will be sending out this information as the program is shared across the different academies. If you have any questions or comments please reach out to an academy representative for more information.
“You won’t win consistently without good team leadership. It’s just that plain and simple. You’ve got to have players who are willing to buy into your system, demand the best from themselves and their teammates, and hold their teammates accountable.” – Pat Summit
